RMHC - Home for Dinner

on July 29th, #TeamBantrel Calgary was fortunate enough to be a part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta Home for Dinner program. Our group made a delicious taco wrap; including both chicken and tofu options, delightful (from scratch) Spanish rice, and even homemade pico de gallo and guacamole! We served cookies and watermelon for dessert, which was a big hit!

After our meal and clean up our group was able to tour the facility, including the "magic room". The entry to the room is painted with a red carpet that leads to a throne set-up, complete with a crown, and a key to enter a special three-foot high castle door that leads to a room full of amazing toys. When children have completed their treatment, they are given a certificate to enter the magic room and choose whatever they like. This is such a special facility, supporting incredible families. We felt grateful to be a part of this program and can't wait to get involved again.
