Mobil Oil Canada Properties commissioned Bantrel to conduct a study to prove the feasibility of constructing and transporting the Hibernia topsides in five large modules and assembling them in a single topside unit in Newfoundland.
A comparison of labor productivity among existing Norwegian fabrication yards, and a proposed new yard at Adam’s Head, Newfoundland, was made. Bantrel also completed a comparison of labor productivity among Canadian yards, the facility at Adam’s Head and Norwegian yards, for the fabrication of the individual modules and other elements of the topsides.
