The first phase of Statoil’s Corner project located approximately 120 kilometres south of Fort McMurray, Alberta, has commercial approval for a 40,000 barrel per day facility using steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology.
In 2011, Statoil Canada Ltd. awarded Bantrel process study work for this project. The scope of work included five studies to investigate and evaluate design changes and to investigate different operating cases to maximize efficiency while balancing operating expense and capital expense. The studies were completed in June 2012.
