Bantrel is searching for a Quality Specialist, based out of Edmonton. This is a contract position with a duration of 6-8 months.

The QA / QC Specialist Is responsible for performing all activities in accordance with the Construction Quality Plan, Welding Program and all appropriate construction procedures. These duties include, but are not limited to, daily interfacing with the Discipline Field Specialists / Engineers, performing Quality Surveillances, continuous monitoring of welding / NDE activities, reviewing and maintaining quality, welding and NDE records and with Field Engineering, control of product quality throughout the construction phase and through to MCTO. The QA / QC Specialist reports to the site Quality Manager / Lead and works closely with the, Construction Manager, Project Field Specialist, Field Specialists, Discipline Superintendents, Planners, Procurement and the owner to ensure successful project execution.
Responsible for the construction quality program activities.
Responsible for the construction welding program activities
Determines requirements for, and directs preparation of, quality, technical and administrative documents and reports.
Monitors the performance and overall progress of construction work processes and inspections to ensure adherence to the construction quality program.
Reviews and validates quality records in support of construction activities.
Implements procedures and policies established by others and establishes procedures, as required, for the performance of assigned functions.
Monitors activities of assigned subcontractors to ensure construction, material and installation comply with project specifications and quality criteria.
Responsible for the implementation of the welding program of the project.
Proactive and positive approach to safety and demonstrates safety leadership.
Development of the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) for work to be performed by Bantrel Constructors for the discipline work activities within the construction scope of work and review of ITPs initiated by the subcontractors for subcontracted work. Prior to issuance of an ITP, the responsible Field Engineer and client representatives will be involved for input and agreement. The ITPs will identify required inspection points and reference technical requirements and Quality Records that are to provide documented evidence that installation activities meet project requirements. The ITPs will be a controlled document and updated as necessary to reflect changes in the construction work process.
Responsible for inspection of welding activities for compliance with project requirements.
Monitors the operations for adherence to project plans and specifications to ensure quality compliance.
Responsible for documentation of inspection activities and review and validation of quality records. Generally assigned to a single discipline activity interfacing with a multi-discipline operation.
Supports welding department in coordinating, reviewing and validating nondestructive.
Responsible for the monitoring welding activities to comply with project requirements.
Responsible, monitors and coordinating NDE and PWHT activities in support of the construction welding program.
Monitors the NDE and PWHT activities to ensure compliance to the project requirements.
Interface with construction supervisors for scheduling purposes and to minimize impacts NDE and PWHT activities may have on construction activities.
Organizes and maintains welding, Non-destructive and Post Weld Heat Treatment data.
Reviews, validates and maintains welding, NDE and PWHT records implements procedures and policies established by others, as required, for the performance of welding activities.

Monitors activities to ensure construction, material and installation comply with project specifications and quality criteria.
Squad checking of ITPs, welding procedures of subcontractors prior to commencement of fabrication; and identify, initiate, issue and maintain individual ITPs during construction.
Support the PFE to ensure establishment and control of the M&TE program.
Review, confirm and compile MTRs for fabrication.
Assist with the generation of turnover documentation for projects.
Complete full review of subcontractors / vendor MRB documentation.
Knowledge of construction quality activities relating to single or multi-disciplines.
Knowledge of an engineering discipline and construction activities which relates to the EPC program.
Knowledge of all welding processes and procedures required for the project.
Technical knowledge of construction activities for multi-disciplines, interfacing with all areas, knowledge of Quality Assurance and Control activities.
Work experience in quality aspects of construction inspection, testing and installation activities.
Performs visual inspections as required
A valid level 2 certification in welding inspection for the codes required for the project.
